OCTOBER 27, 2022 -- Public Schools of Saskatchewan will be recognizing public school student groups or classes that support citizenship or character building within their schools or community by providing annual Student Citizenship Awards. Student groups or classes at elementary and high school will be recognized for their contributions.
Smudging is a tradition, common to many First Nations, which involves the burning of one or more natural medicines (plants) gathered from the earth. The four medicines (plants) commonly used by First Nations’ are tobacco, sage, cedar and sweetgrass. The most common medicines (plants) used in a smudge are sage and sweetgrass.
In order for any staff member to administer any essential medications, the following forms must be completed and returned to the school:
The first form is to be signed by parents/guardians. The second form is to be completed by the prescribing physician, including dosage.
